SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
Assignment 1: social psychology journal
For this assignment, we were required to write a five-essay journal by incorporating the concepts learned in lectures. We are to apply theories and concepts to our journal about our lives in the past. The journal must be at least 800 words each and at least 4000 words in total.

reflection
Through this assignment, I was able to understand more about the concepts and theories we learnt during our social psychology classes. Besides, after writing the social psychology journal, I realised that our our lives are full of social psychology. Everything in our lives can be related to psychology. Even the way we present ourselves and how confident we are in any circumstances. It is simply exciting.
Assignment 2: COMIC STRIP
For this assignment, we were required to produce a comic based on a story line that is new and have not been used before. The story line must consist of five concepts, each from a different chapter that we have learnt during our classes. This is so that we can understand more concepts in our module efficiently. My group members, excluding me are Teoh Zi Wei, Chin Ke Ni Kelly and Chiang Lin Chew. The five concepts we have chosen are Halo Effect (from Chapter 4), Social influence (from Chapter 1), False consensus effect (from Chapter 2), Self-fulfilling prophecy (from Chapter 3) and classical conditioning (from Chapter 5).

REFLECTION
Through this assignment, I have also learnt a lot about relating and applying concepts we learnt into our stories. Before the starting on the comic, my group members have discussed and decide to choose a few concepts to work with. Each of us went back and thought of a story line. In the end, Teoh's story line was chosen. We modified the story line and was ready to draw the comic. For me, I find that the story line was actually the easy part. As our group consists of all quantity surveyors wannabes, nobody want to draw the comic as it is difficult for all of us. However, the job still have to be done. I volunteered to do the comic. As it turns out, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. We all coloured the comic after the comic was finished. I found that our teamwork was great.
Assignment 3: creating a video
For this assignment, we were required to produce a short video clip of 5 to 7 minutes which consist of 5 concepts from 5 different chapters. The concepts we chose must be different from that of the comic's concept. Before the video was taken, we discussed the story line and concepts and finally decided on the topic. Our video topic is 'A beggar's life'. Our video talks about the life of a beggar. The beggar, Klaus was poor, cold, hungry and doesn't have shelter nor a place to live at first. However, he coincidentally met Vivian, the CEO of a rich company who is kind enough to give him the basic needs and made him the manager of her company (Abraham Maslow hierarchy of needs) as she sees the potential in him. When he first started off, he was really hardworking. However, soon after that, he became very lazy and starts to slack off most of the work in the company while his colleagues do all the work (Social loafing). Klaus also take credit for all the work he didn't do but blames the fault on others (Self-serving bias). This made his colleagues very angry. During the meeting, his colleagues raise up his voice and persuaded (persuasion) the CEO to fire him. After Klaus was fired, he lost everything. He regrets everything and thought about the scenarios where if he did better, he would not have been fired (counterfactual thinking).

reflection
Through this assignment, I learnt to make a video and a report about the video. I found that my group has really great cooperation. For that, I am thankful. We got to produce a successful video that I think it's very funny thanks to Teoh's editing skills. Besides that, I find that social psychology has really influence us in our lives as well as Mr Shankar for teaching us so many concepts and theories during our classes. Our lives could never be the same again. Every time I look at something, or say something, my brain would subconsciously think of a concept to relate with the situation. It is so weird that before I started learning this subject, I didn't know anything about psychology. And to be honest, I didn't know why a bunch of Quantity Surveyors and Architects need this subject. Now, I knew I was so wrong to think that. Just after these mere few months, I know so much about it. I feel so accomplished and knowledgeable learning this subject. It has been such an exciting experience learning this module and also doing the comic and video. I would like to thank our lecturer Mr Shankar who taught us a lot for this semester. Thanks to you I am in love with social psychology.
