Project 1
Experiencing and Documenting Nature
GROUP WORK
For project 1, we were divided into groups of 10 or 11. We were brought to the Bird park and Orchid park to experience and collect information from the site about the 5 senses of the animals, plants and its environment. We were assigned to create an original infographic interactive poster and give a presentation about them. The poster was concentrated on the habitat or any specific theme of nature approved by our tutors. Videos and short clips was also embedded. Those were focused on the student's experience at site,, their understanding of the habitat and theme.

REFLECTION
This project has taught us about teamwork. We all work together efficiently to produce the infographic posters. Thankfully, the presentation was successful. It also taught us how to appreciate the beauty of animals and plants, the environment. It is very important to us.

For our individual work, we were assigned to use our information obtained during the visit to the Bird Park and Orchid Park. We are required to produce a series of booklet of their experience. We are free to attach photographs, information and also information of elements that we personally investigated.
The booklet should include the followings:
1. Explain and elaborate your understanding of the ecosystem/habitat/natural environment
2. Describe and elaborate one plant species and one animal through illustration, sketches or diagram or pictures.
3. ONE animal through illustration, sketches or diagram or pictures
At the site students are required to explore and collect the following information:

a. See( what do you see at different times, scales of things, colours, elements, near far etc ?)
b. Smell ( what kind of smell at different time and places or things?)
c. Hear (what kind of sounds do you hear or can you make?

REFLECTION
I feel that this project has help us develop our understandings of the environment. We learnt the 5 senses of animals (Sun Conure Parrot) and plants (Pink Butterfly Orchid). This brought us closer to the natural environment.

For this project 2, We were assigned to create visual notes related to the two main components of the module which are the natural environment and the built environment. For the natural environment, we are required to formulate topics related to the word ECOSYSTEM. For the built environment, we are required to formulate topics related to the word SPACES.

REFLECTION
The journal has been quite challenging for me. Not only we need to design the pages with a combination of drawings and wordings, but everything must also be hand-drawn or hand-written. However, I still agree that it was a good project. It improves our creativity and also make us understand the natural and built environment better.
FINAL PROJECT
BETTER CITY OF THE FUTURE
INDIVIDUAL WORK
For the final project, we were assigned a current issue for our future city. We need to design a future city and involve the ways to reduce the current issues in the future city. we are required to produce a weekly digital journal on the e-portfolio and create a pamphlet about the new city. We obtained the current issue, migrants and refugee. Therefore, i needed to complete a pamphlet with the methods to solve the migrant and refugee issues.
My future city is named Blue Crystal.

REFLECTION
After the project, I find that I learnt a lot. One of the things I learnt was that every city needs a backup plan. Due to the current issue nowadays, people need to start planning the city before building them in order to create a more efficient city. A good and reliable city needs to have methods to overcome the current issues nowadays like migrants and refugee. It really opened my eyes to the reality. No city is free from current issues. Besides, a new and more green initiative can be put into our city. That way our city can be newer, modern and fresh.

The lecturer chose Tan Vin Nie's proposal on the future city. Her future city's name is Moonlight city. That is because her city is shaped into a crescent moon shape.

OUR MODEL
OUR MODEL WAS MADE USING TISSUE PAPER, POLYSTRYENE AND MOUNTING BOARD AS THE BASE. THE BUILDINGS WERE MADE USING POLYSTRYENE. THE CITY IS LIKE AN ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA.

REFLECTION
I FEEL THAT THIS PROJECT HAS TAUGHT US A LOT. GROUP WORK IS GENERAL WILL ENCOURAGE TEAMWORK. TEAMWORK, ON THE OTHER HAND IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. I AM REALLY GLAD THAT MY GROUP MEMBERS WERE REALLY PARTICIPATING. WE ALL REALLY PUT A LOT OF EFFORT INTO THIS MODEL. IT IS OUR GLORY. IT MAKES US REALISED THAT ALL CITY, NO MATTER JUST A MODEL OR THE ACTUAL BULDINGS NEED PLANNINGS BEFORE ANYTHING IS WELL CONDUCTED. EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CONSIDERATION FOR.
