INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING
Understanding different professions and their drawings in built environment
PROJECT 1
For this project, the lecturers decided to combine two modules, namely INTRODUCTION TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY and INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING. The topic given for our group was Electrical engineer. Therefore, the project require us to present about the drawing drawn or read by the electrical engineers.
We were divided into groups of SIX or SEVEN people. My group has six members. They excluding me are:
1. WONG YUN TENG (OUR LEADER)
2. WONG MEI XIN
3. TEOH ZI WEI
4. THOMAS TING SHII KAI
5. ALFRED TI CHENG JIE

PRESENTATION DAY
REFLECTION
Through this project I learnt that electrical engineers knows electrical drawings. They may not know how to draw plans like architects. However, they do know how to read them. They communicate with other professions in the construction industry to carry out a certain project successfully. During this project, I also learnt that teamwork is a must. We all researched on different topics of electrical engineers and combine them to produce the slides. Furthermore, we get to pitch in ideas and discuss about the topic together as a team.
INDIVIDUAL DRAWINGS
PROJECT 2
For project 2, we were required to choose two objects, not bigger than an A5 paper. After that, we were assigned to draw the objects into the A5 booklet. This drawing is not your typical drawing where you can just simply sketch it out. We need to use technical drawings using 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 artline pens to show its line weight. This is to make it look more realistic and precised.
The drawings required are:
1. One plan
2. Two elevations
3. Two sections
4. One detail drawing/sketch
For the drawings, I have chosen a scissors and a stapler.

REFLECTION
I find that this project is really useful. It taught us that we need to be precise with our drawings and also taught us how to use technical drawing in our simple drawing to make it look more attractive, precise and neat. Besides, it is important to measure the dimensions of objects properly so that we will not make any unnecessary mistake. The drawing must also not be slanted.
DRAWING BASIC SPACE (ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWINGS)
FINAL PROJECT
For the final project, we were required to add and draw furniture from IKEA product catalogue into an existing studio unit layout which consist of basic space like a bedroom, living room, kitchen and a bathroom. We must draw a floor plan layout, followed by three elevations, one section, one detailed drawing on a furniture, one perspective and one furniture inventory as well as a simple costing. All of it must be first drawn into butter paper to show our tutors our weekly progress. After that, we were assigned to draw them into A4 sheets. The progress sheet must also be compiled and binded together with the A4 sheets .

REFLECTION
After this project, I learnt that drawing a plan in scale is not as easy as it looks. We need to follow the scale (1:50). I also learnt that technical drawing is important to show precise and neat drawing whether in a plan layout or in a section drawing. Besides, costing is also important to show how much we require for the furniture. Creativity and enough research is needed to produce a solid concept for anything that we build. Then only we will know how to arrange and locate the furniture. Before I conclude my E-portfolio for ITD, I want to thank my lecturers Ms. Ida, Ms Normah and Mr. Paul for teaching us. Special thanks to Mr Paul, our tutor who gave us opinions and comments for our projects throughout the semester.
